LDA America has affiliate chapters in 38 states and this website is the State of Maryland which has 24 Counties with Montgomery County being the primary.  Therefore, much of the information presented is localized to Montgomery County.

Beginning Tuesday April 21st please join us as Wendy Taylor shares practical suggestions and strategies for how to use this year’s IEP to proactively communicate with your school team and set your child up for success next year

On Thursday April 23rd we discuss College Readiness.  If you work with, support, or parent a neurodivergent and college-bound student, this meeting is for you. Make sure your young adult is truly college-ready, not just college-capable. Judy Bass will share many of the tricks up her sleeve to help ensure students are on the path to success.

Wednesday May6th delivers a presentation discussing the benefits and types of gap years that are available? Great question! Gap years are becoming increasingly popular, and Caitlin Garman from BroadFutures will share all the latest news and information about the overwhelmingly positive experience of gap years for all students, but especially neurodivergent young adults.

On Thursday May 7th is a must hear presentation on parenting.  Understand what lies beneath a 2e child’s behavior to create real, lasting change. This session empowers parents, educators, and professionals with the “Cycle for Success”: understanding, strategies, and advocacy. Learn to anticipate challenges and address them through responsive parenting and teaching.

Concluding on Wednesday May13th join us to better understand the college admission process.  Kelly Scherr is an expert on all things related to college accommodations (and many other subjects!). If you support, teach, work with, or parent a student with a disability who is headed to college in the next few years, you’ll want to attend this conversation to learn the ins and outs of ensuring your student has access to all of the relevant accommodations to set them up for success
