Advocate Now! (AN)

This program is ideal for any students that have difficulty advocating for themselves and want to learn these skills. Open to students in grades 9-12.

• Meeting Time – 3:30-5:00pm
• Session Length – 8 weeks
• Group size – 8 consumers
• Instructor – Donna Cruickshank, a talented, energetic LCSW-C with 30 years experience in private practice, mental health clinics and school settings.
• Program Summary – This program will cover the following topics; Introduction to Self-Advocacy and Identifying Personal Strengths and Needs, Rights and Responsibilities, Effective Communication and Setting Boundaries, Conflict Resolution, Goal Setting and Action Planning, Understanding Systems and Services and Accessing Support Needs, and Advocacy in Practice and Overcoming Challenges.
