Topic Description and Speaker’s Bio:
Description: In this session Jane will share specific approaches to communication that will help you gain skills in how to coach versus advise your child in their growth. We will reflect on the parent experience of emotional triggers and fear that can become barriers in executing change, as well as walk through strategies for common difficult scenarios. We will also talk about the intersectionality of self-esteem, motivation and self-awareness.
Jane Singleton specializes in career and leadership coaching for neurodiverse individuals as well as coaches parents and kids through educational milestones and life transitions that help them reach their behavioral and academic goals. She has over 13 years of experience as an educational leader and specialist in understanding cognitive profiles. She is the founder and executive coach at Launchpad for Life, LLC and helps clients build awareness around their cognitive and emotional strengths and weaknesses, as well as leverage self-esteem and motivation to create sustainable habit change that helps them reach their goals. Additionally, she coaches teams to leverage strengths and create shared value systems that improve morale and efficiency, as well as helps institutions develop policy and protocols that improve inclusion and support strategic priorities. She has developed customized training for organizations on topics such as: executive functioning, effective communication, growing and maintaining self-esteem and motivation, and a variety of topics on neurodiversity. She is an International Coaching Federation (ICF) certified executive coach, a lifelong learner and an inclusion advocate for people with disabilities. She has a M.A. Ed in Special Education from the College of William & Mary and a B.S. in Psychology and Communication Studies from James Madison University.
